Enabling the continuous caster for new market segments
This webinar will provide answers to the challenges that caster operators are facing in terms of quality improvement. In order to target new market segments or even conquer new markets with their products, higher slab internal quality is required. Center segregation is always a challenge when trying to achieve high inner quality when applying soft reduction. Here, with SRD (Single Roll Dynagap) segments the point to apply soft reduction can be optimized to centimeters. A best practice example will be presented by a project partner from Ternium Steel, who immediately ordered SRD installation on a second strand after discovering the quick improvement of quality on the first strand.
Target audience:
- Metallurgists and process engineers
- Strategic planners or controllers
- Operation decision makers
- Investment decision makers
- Plant Managers
Key takeaways:
- Learn about the mechanisms how to improve slab center quality
- Learn how Ternium has improved the inner slab quality
- Learn about upgrade strategies
