Baosteel Orders Third Continuous Caster from Primetals Technologies in Three-Month Period
The world’s largest steel producer, Baosteel, a part of Baowu Group, already operates more than 20 casters supplied by Primetals Technologies. Baosteel has now signed a contract with Primetals Technologies for the latest continuous casting project, this time for a plant in China’s Shanghai region that will feature an optimized roll geometry and a comprehensive suite of automation and technology solutions.

SAIL Orders Fourth Hot-Blast Stove from Primetals Technologies for IISCO Steel Plant
Primetals Technologies has received an order from Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) for the design, supply, and installation of a new hot-blast stove for blast furnace No. 5, named “Kalyani,” of the IISCO steel plant. The additional hot-blast stove ensures the security of operations and enables existing stoves to be taken offline for repair without affecting site operations.

TYASA and Primetals Technologies Celebrate 10-year Milestone for Cost-Effective EAF Quantum
Mexican steel producer TYASA and Primetals Technologies have recently reached a milestone for the world’s first EAF Quantum plant. On May 7, 2024, the energy-efficient 100-ton electric arc furnace had been in operation for 10 years. No less than 15 EAF Quantum furnaces is in operation worldwide, with more currently being constructed.

Newly Implemented MULPIC System Enables Processing of Higher Strength Steel Grades
New 12-meter long MULPIC line from Primetals Technologies enables Indian steel producer to increase product quality and expand pipe-grade product portfolio. The technology offers an ‘in-line’ plate cooling system capable of reaching the desired cooling rate and temperature drops necessary for plates of various product dimensions.
