A new Arvedi ESP line from Primetals Technologies will allow GRP to produce thin and ultrathin gauges, largely replacing cold rolled coil in Indonesia. The investment has a key role in GRP's ambitious transition project.

Primetals Technologies has recently received the final acceptance certificate (FAC) for digital assistant systems at SSAB’s Hämeenlinna plant in Finland. These systems are Primetals Technologies’ first-ever implementations of digitalization solutions for coil identification and for the detection of pickling defects. The systems will identify surface quality issues, resulting in a reduced number of production interruptions caused by, for example, strip breakages.

A new bloom caster will be implemented at a steel producer in Northeastern China to produce high-quality blooms for rail and wire rod production. The caster will feature an extensive automation solution and the largest curved copper tube mold ever supplied by Primetals Technologies.
